Corzo Genuine Leather didn’t originate from a family name, but from a symbol. Corzo was a name envisioned by my father, inspired by a small, graceful animal known for its quiet strength, agility, and elegant beauty. He chose it not only for its sound, but for the values it represents—refined simplicity and purposeful movement. That’s how a brand with identity and meaning was born.

My parents were true warriors. In a country with harsh conditions for entrepreneurs, they managed to raise eight children with courage, dignity, and relentless hard work. My mother—now approaching her centennial—is still with us, a living testament to that love and perseverance. My father, who now rests in peace, worked tirelessly until the end of his days.

As a young man, I felt a calling to continue their legacy. When my father, worn out by a lifetime of hard work, considered stepping away from the family workshop, I knew I couldn’t let that dream fade. Together with one of my brothers, I took a leap of faith and reshaped the brand’s vision. We launched a new line of men’s and women’s leather wallets, made with unmatched attention to detail, designed for distinction, and aimed at the high-end market without fear. The results were outstanding. Our quality stood out—and eventually, we were awarded an international prize for quality in Germany.

Corzo became a platform for growth, knowledge, and purpose. Many members of our family found their professional path through it. But life, as always, presented new challenges. The wave of violence, guerrilla conflict, corruption, and economic instability in our country deeply affected our business. What we had built so passionately started to fall apart, and several of my siblings had to emigrate. Then came the pandemic, delivering a final blow that left the company in a critical state.

Still, something remained: our knowledge, our structure, and our unwavering faith.

With a team of brave individuals, we decided to rebuild. At that key moment, my wife—then a tenured public school teacher—made a courageous decision: she left her stable government job to stand by my side and fight for this dream. Together, we placed everything in God’s hands and began a bold new chapter.

Thanks to our children becoming U.S. citizens, we were able to legally relocate and launch the next phase of our journey: Corzo Genuine Leather in the United States—a brand that honors its roots while embracing a global future.

We added the words “Genuine Leather” to reflect our foundation and commitment. Our products are made from authentic leather, a natural material that not only offers beauty and durability, but also helps reduce environmental waste. Unlike synthetic imitations that break down quickly and create pollution, real leather ages gracefully. With proper care, it becomes softer, develops a natural shine, and lasts for years—requiring far fewer replacements over time.
